Here is my first entry as guest blogger on Steve's great site. It's an honor and I hope I do him proud. For those that don't know me, I'm Paul Starybrat: Apple user, musician, webmaster, podcaster, and Imperial Scout ( aka Biker Scout) for The 501st Legion. For those who don't know what the 501st is, we are a bunch of Star Wars geeks who own Imperial costumes. Ya know, the bad guys.
On October 15th, 2006, members of The 501st Legion's Conn Squad will participate in The Walk Beyond Disability. This event takes place in downtown Danbury, CT, near the War Memorial, at 10:00 in the morning.
Since 1953, Ability Beyond Disability has committed its services to helping individuals with disabilities pursue lives that most people take for granted. They do this by finding homes, providing supports, training people to work, and then helping them find jobs. And above all, teaching people skills so they can make friends, pursue their interests; feel good about themselves by volunteering - and at the end of the day - have a life.
By donating a dollar - ninety one cents helps someone with a disability.
