There is an apocryphal tale of an emperor who wore no clothes. All of the kingdom was too scared to point this out until a young child exclaimed it aloud. The emperor, embarrassed, ran off with his retainers in tow. The untold part of the story involved mass executions and a man hunt for a certain tailor who made the clothes.
Sooka was a famous bard who regaled the world with tales of daring and adventure at many a tavern in the frozen north. She used her training in the art of illusion to create a thrilling spectacle for all to enjoy. It was after years of experiencing the dangers of frontier life, all the while amassing a small fortune, that she set out to create an item that would protect her from the dangerous intelligent entities that she might encounter.
With the help of a few powerful friends she created a defensive device that used the intelligence of those who might do her harm against them. Thus, Sooka’s Armor of Imagination came into existence.
The armor is not armor, it is actually a thin gold necklace from which hangs a prismatic gem. The armor effect is activated by a mental command of the wearer and will function for up to 24 minutes. Once the effect is deactivated it begins to recharge at the rate of one minute of use regained for every one hour it lays dormant.
Major Power: Sooka’s Armor of Imagination creates an illusionary form of armor based upon the imagination of the attacker. In situations where multiple attackers are involved each attacker is affected differently. The highly intelligent will see a very formidable and highly magical form of armor appear to surround the wearer while a stupid creature may only see a thick leather jacket.
In game terms the attacker will have a negative to hit and damage modifier of half their intelligence stat rounded up. Mindless creatures such as undead are immune to this item's effects.
