A few facts about the show:
1) Colbert's desk, when seen from above, is in the shape of a "C"
2) The show was designed as a parody of the Fox News show "The O'Reilly Factor."
3) Colbert often points out his Emmy and Peabody Awards (from the Daily Show) which is a bit on an inside joke with the O'Reilly Factor.
4) The patriotic imagery on the show is an homage to Fox News' over-use of patriotic symbols in it's broadcasts.
5) The set for the show was designed based on the painting "The Last Supper" in that everything in the set points to the main "C" desk where Stephen Colbert sits.
6) The Tom Delay Legal Defense Fund once tried to use a clip from the show to show "the truth behind Liberal Hollywood" to which the show responded by creating a fake interview with DeLay by splicing together interviews from various other networks. Colbert ended the interview by saying, "I do hope you enjoyed my manipulation of your words."
7) The Colbert Report never tried to sue anyone for posting clips on YouTube.
