Of the more unusual magical items to come out of the north, one of the strangest has to be Helen’s Bag of Aromas. While many people don’t understand the value of this item, Helen Spearblade was a well known owner of the bag that was able to exploit its magical properties to the fullest.
As a hustler, Helen knew no equal. With the magic of the bag on her side, her exploits gained legendary status. Whether it was getting a meal comped at a ritzy restaurant or convincing a merchant to sell an expensive garment for cheap, Helen always got what she wanted.
The bag itself is a slightly modified Bag of Holding. What makes it special is that it has five extra pockets on the inside that are capable of holding a cubic foot of material and imparting the aroma of those items onto everything in the bag.
Major Power: The five pockets are each capable of holding one item of up to one cubic foot in total volume. The pocket will alter its extradimensional space to hold a larger item but will not exceed one cubic foot in total space. Each of the five pockets has a small button near the opening. The main portion of the bag works as a standard Bag of Holding.
When one of the five pocket buttons is depressed all items in the main extradimensional space of the bag will take on the aroma of the pocketed item(s). This effect will last for one hour. After one hour the buttons will all reset and the aromas will disappear. If the pocket is empty, all items in the bag will have no aroma at all.
The five pockets also work as a stasis field and items placed within them will not degrade in any fashion. Thus the aromas are saved in the side pockets. At any time the items in these stasis pockets can be removed as a free action. However, upon removal the stasis will end and they will immediately age until they reach the age they would be if they had never been placed in stasis.
